Garston Estate Agent Help C4 Show |
A Garston Estate Agents has played its part in a popular Channel 4 show after receiving a call from prime time show Location, Location, Location. Claytons Estate Agents, based on Garston Parade, received a call from the popular show as it was looking for a property due to having a buyer keen to move into the local area.
They found a property on Claytons’ website and arranged an appointment with them to have a look. They also asked that their film crew be given access to the property while the owner was out. Much like all homeowners do when they have guests round, a major spring clean was carried out, this despite the house being in immaculate condition already. The owner of the house, which was in Abbots Langley, was happy to grant the film crew access to their home, which just left Claytons and the TV Programme to meet at the property. Valerie Fraser, joint owner of Claytons told My Garston: “The film company asked us, the agent, to meet them at the property at a certain time to let them in. I nominated my self this task and duly went off to get my hair done and put on my new suit and arrived at the agreed time thinking this was my big TV debut. The producer introduced herself and took the key from me. She asked me to pop back that afternoon to collect it - so much for my 15 minutes of fame!” Later the same day the TV Company requested that Claytons setup further access to the house for the following day and to recommend a builder as the couple interested in the property wanted to know costs of some potential alterations. Clive Budden was recommended to the company, and Valerie reassured him that he was unlikely to be needed on screen. She added: “I mentioned to him it was unlikely they would want him on camera, but a soon as he arrived he was immediately asked if he would be ok being filmed. Obviously it was his chiselled dark looks that did it.” Shortly after the show’s visit, presenter Kirsty Allsopp called the office to say the couple were interested in buying the property and made an offer. The vendor accepted and a sale was agreed. The transaction is still proceeding and the programme is expected to be screened in November.
