GARSTON AUTHOR LAUNCHES NEW BOOK

Local author and business to business publisher Daniel Ware, of First Avenue, Garston, is for the very first time openly publishing a selection of his most personal poetry. The book, entitled “It’s not God’s fault…” features fifteen poems with accompanying photography from his private collection, which until now has remained unavailable from public view.

Five of the 16 photographic illustrations are from his ‘Watford in Winter’ collection. Driven first and foremost by the author’s belief in God, followed closely by his experience of pain, loss, love & joy, Daniel says the collection is an intimate and honest attempt to share what he feels as he travels through the complicated journey that is his life. Dark events such as the divorce of his parents, through to the recent loss of his younger brother, inspired him to deal with the painful raw issues of hurt and loss openly, holding nothing back. The book also features lighter work inspired by his love of life, belief in God, his marriage, and two poems specifically about his favourite time of year, Christmas.“For many years I’ve written poems inspired by both the people around me and the events of my life, and then hidden them away. Poetry can become very personal for me, and it’s not something I ever felt I wanted to share with the world.” Daniel told My Garston News.“Then I read my poem entitled ‘Mother’ during this year’s Mother’s day service at the Church of the Nazarene, Woodside. The world didn’t end! People told me they liked it, and asked if I had written more. With the encouragement of the people around me I set about selecting some of my work and combining it with photographs I have taken in and around Watford to produce the book.”Daniel is keen to encourage others to step forward, and has now set up a publishing company, Capel Publications, specifically to work with local budding writers. “Watford is filled with talented people. I know there are others out there, in my road, in Garston, in Watford, who write poetry and I believe their work would be welcomed by others in the community. If we can inspire each other to share what we feel, then perhaps we can get through the ups and downs of life a little easier”.
