A construction company has had its plans rejected to erect a new block of 14 flats here in Garston. Cosway Homes Ltd were looking to demolish three homes before construction of the flats could begin on St Albans Road, close to the junction of Sheepcot Lane and First Avenue, but for the second time in six months, they have been unsuccessful with their application. 
A local trouble maker who breached his ASBO has had his jail term halved by a judge. The 27-year-old labourer, of Horseshoe Lane, was convicted of nine public order offences, which include affray and racially aggravated threatening behaviour, before being handed out an Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) in June 2006. 
Shop owners on a small precinct are at loggerheads after Watford Borough Council proposed that a number of parking bays be made one hour stay. The bays, which sit outside the precinct on North Approach, currently allow customers and residents to park for as long as they so wish.
