A Care Worker who racially abused her boyfriend has been ordered to pay £150 for her wrongdoing. The Garston woman, 27, of The Gossamers, Garston, was arrested after police were called to a disturbance in the street in the early hours where the woman was refusing to calm down. 

Malachy Packenham, prosecuting, told Watford Magistrates Court that the woman was relentless in her abuse as she continued to shout obscenities at her black partner from the back of the police car, following her arrest for a public order offence. When asked his details, the woman’s partner refused to divulge his name, but did tell police he had asked his abusive girlfriend to leave, packing her belongings and leaving them in an alleyway. The arrested woman pleased guilty to a racially aggravated public order offence and the court heard that she had no similar convictions. The woman, who at the time of the event claimed she had just found out her partner had been cheating on her, apologised to the court for her actions.   The woman, who was defending herself, told the court how the whole episode had got out of hand after finding out her partner had cheated on here while she was only four weeks pregnant. She had just finished working at her care home, and was struggling to sleep, and therefore had drunk a lot of alcohol, which had gone some way to fuelling the row. The Chairman of the bench stated that he understood the woman’s frustration, but that the whole incident had been very unpleasant for neighbours to witness. The woman said she would pay the court once she had the money, and before leaving was offered the services of The Probation Service to help with her troubles
